Sales and Marketing are as much a Science as an Art. An experienced Sales or Marketing professional will acknowledge
this in today's environment. Determining how a company should approach their Sales and Marketing departments has
sometimes been a mystery to upper management. They deal in numbers and facts, laws and governments, accounting and production
and see Sales and Marketing as "gray" areas. Often trying to quantify and control by looking back at historical
data and pushing the future with quotas and goals. I submit to you that an "Engineered" approach to these
issues is just as appropriate as designing the next production line. An Engineered approach simply means that a defining
the end result and creating the ordered steps and proceedures nescessary to reach that goal. It requires knowlege of
how people and things work together with the tools that are available to assist in completing the project. It involves
moving forward, finding the problems and solving them.
