The CONMEBOL Copa Amrica (literally America Cup), known until 1975 as the South American Football Championship (Campeonato Sudamericano de Ftbol in Spanish and Campeonato Sul-Americano de Futebol in Portuguese), is the top men's football tournament contested among national teams from South America.
It was officially awarded on 9 April 2024 at the CONMEBOL Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On 20 May 2024, due to security concerns amid protests against the government of President Ivn Duque Mrquez, Colombia was dropped as co-host of the tournament.
